Crianças Brilhantes (Sparkling Kids) is a project born in 2016, when I spent a year working in an educational center in Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil).
Few days before leaving I was tormented by a fear: forgetting the kids. Their name, their smiles, their voices. I took a brush with the intention to mark what I had to remember. All shapes aim to highlight what I found unique in each of them. Each portrait is a secret between me and the portrayed kid.
Crianças Brilhantes is a weapon against the forgetfulness.
The entire series made by over 40 portraits has been projected at Scuola Holden during Biennale Democrazia 2017. If you want to see the entire series you can contact me via e-mail.
